Question kxml vs kxml2 vs wbxml4j

    Hi, All

Could you explain differences between kxml and kxml2 java libs? The main question - what versions of oma dm supports kxml2 wbxml parcer ? Only 1.2 or previous too ?

Also, what is better - wbxml4j or kxml or kxml2 ? What opensource stuff can I use, what to have best support of wbxml transformations ?

    Thanks in advance.

Re: kxml vs kxml2 vs wbxml4j

I think kxml2 with wbxml parcer/serializer is the best one for WBXML purpose. What wbxml versions are supported in this library ?

Are you creating a MIDlet? Because of limited heap, you should not convert from or to WBXML but work with it. As you mention ‘transformation’, do you understand that sentence already? Do not convert to XML. kXML2 allows to work with WBXML like XML.

kXML2 can be extended for many code pages by yourself. Therefore OMA DM should not be that problem. WBXML version should not matter either. Anyway, does not sound like an easy project as you will have to code/extend a lot. If you do not control the server-side, than you will have a lot of fun.
