    MIME type

    hi...
    What is the MIME type for .mp3 files.Is it "audio/mpeg" or something else.
    My device Nokia E61i is not supporting this
    Is there any specific reason for that?
    Please kindly help me with this..

    Yes It is "audio/mpeg" for mp3 files.

    You can check this what audio video format supported by you phone using j2me.

    Audio Format supported by E61i -

    AAC, AMR-NB, AMR-WB, eAAC+, M4A, MIDI Tones (poly 48), Mobile XMF, MP3, MP4, RealAudio 7, 8, 10, SP-MIDI, True tones

    Thanks for your reply.
    In supported formats it shows that it support audio/mpeg but,
    if i try to play .mp3 file it doesn't play it but plays all the other formats.
    What could be the reason please help.

    Hello,

    Can you check this quick?

    Are you getting any exception after you play that mp3 file?
    You try to play that file using Nokia Music Player? Is that playing?
    Try to play some other .mp3 file if the existing one having some problem from your code?

    check the same code on other devices too. Catch the exception well and mention it here if any.. Well, you can post ur code here to analyze it more clearly..
