    symbian emulator on qt creator 1.3

    i followed the instruction on this page to setup my qt creator for symbian

    http://labs.trolltech.com/blogs/2009...t-for-symbian/

    i had no problem running my problem on my device, but when i tried to run on emulator.. it gives the error.. "the process could not be started!"

    i tried to change the following on project tab
    1. active run config -> symbian emulator
    2. build -> S60 5th Ed
    3. run setting -> symbian emulator

    anyone know the solution?

    Re: symbian emulator on qt creator 1.3

    how do u start the emulator from command line?

    is it the same as Start -> S60 Dev Tools -> 5th Ed SDK -> V1.0 -> Emulator?

    i tried to create a simple program.. this is step i tried

    1. start emulator as above in line 2
    2. go to project tab
    3. build setting -> build config -> add -> "qt s60 5th ed release"
    4. run setting -> add -> "symbian emulator"

    it warned => active build cannot be used by active run config.. continue anyway

    after it returns
    Starting C:\S60\devices\S60_5th_Edition_SDK_v1.0\epoc32\release\winscw\udeb\xxx.exe...
    The process could not be started!

    am i missing something?

    edit
    i tried
    http://developer.symbian.org/wiki/in..._in_Qt_Creator

    it didnt give warning for invalid build now.. but it wont run too

    Is it possible that the emulator's already running? If you have it running you can't start it a second time.

    When testing on the emulator it's usually best (in my experience) to start the emulator rather than the application, then navigate through the emulator menus to the application:

    Press the small arrow by the "Debug" symbol, then select "Debug Configurations". In the column on the left select the project/configuration you want to run, and then, in the "Process to launch" entry area change "...\udeb\MyProject.exe" to "...\udeb\epoc.exe". Then press "Debug" at the bottom right.

    When the emulator had finished starting (no longer says "loading") press the menu icon, then select "Applications" and navigate to your application (likely at the bottom of the list). Press that to start. If it seems to die right away you can try setting breakpoints in the debugger (no need to restart the emulator), then try starting the app again.

    Re: symbian emulator on qt creator 1.3

    hi mark

    thanks.. but i am compiling in qt creator not eclipse

    managed to get it to compile and run on the emulator.. just that it is not automatically executed.. it will throw some error (which i tot compilation failed) and insert an icon in application menu.

    any link for qt-eclipse integration? thanks

    Hi,
    I guess that you have the shadow build enabled (as may be visible in your Qt creator's project tab). If that is so, then the exe's path requires to be pointed to the \debug folder within yourapp_debug_simulator folder.
