I am develop an application in J2ME, but the APIs availables in my phone (5800 XM) are not enough for that i need. For example, i need use the autoFocus but camera JSR234 are not supported in this phone. I want to know if there are any way to update the java environment of the mobile phone, and so let me use the JSR234 camera functionalities. Thanks

AFAIK only way to update the device is to update the firmware with normal updating tools. and if the latest firmware does not have the required APIs, then there is really nothing that could be done.

The JRE for S60 phones (starting with 5th Edition) is developed separately by Nokia Beta Labs: http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia...ime-20-for-s60 So besides firmware updates you can also install is separately.

But so far there aren't that many new features, and as far as I can tell JSR-234 is still only implemented for music.
