Drivers for older S40 devices if I upgrade from Windows 7 32-bit to 64-bit ?

    Hi,

If I upgrade my OS to 64-bit Windows 7, are USB cable drivers for all the old S40 phones still available? They all seem to get recognised when I plug them in on 32-bit Win 7 - I have Nokia Suite and Nokia PC Suite installed (and Nokia SDK 1.1. though I assume drivers are coming from Nokia Suite or PC Suite).

I'm talking about really old lower powered devices like Nokia 6230, and every other Nokia feature phone since which you can plug into a PC via a USB cable.

It's critical for the J2ME development I'm doing that I have a way of sideloading onto all these devices.

    Many thanks,
    Alex

Not sure about it. Were you successful?

I sometimes use bluetooth to transfer JAR to my Device and test. You could always use that as a last resort.

    Hi,

Yes just to say this all works fine, so I installed Windows 7 (Home Premium) 64-bit version, and also installed Nokia Suite AND Nokia PC Suite (latest versions of each) and tried plugging in really old Nokia phones (and more recent ones) via USB cable and they all work fine

I tested on Nokia 6230 and 6230i and more recent phones such as 6300 and 6500 (all S40) and they were recognised fine.

    So, no problems

    Cheers
    Alex
