USB Host Software Support for Symbian

    Hi,
I am currently working in Symbian ^3.
Could you please tell how to write the USB host side ACM driver. Is there any template or some basic code available for this. If so, please help me regarding this.

Sinc eit is Symbian ^3, the Best option would be to check Symbian foundation for availability of the API.

You might get better help from Symbian.org developer site.

Re: USB Host Software Support for Symbian

Symbian^3 does not contain USB Host/OTG functionality so it does not help asking from Symbian Foundation forums. I directed the question here. This is because of a comment found in Symbian Foundation forums:

"(Note: SymbianOS v9.5 CKL licenced release - not a Symbian Foundation release - does contain a Host/OTG solution licenced from Jungo, which may be the source of the confusion)"

So the only way to get any support for USB host/OTG features currently are the vendors. This naturally also means that the corresponding software release has to be used (in this case SymbianOS v9.5).

However I do not know if there is any support material available.

There is no USB host stack on older Symbian versions (meaning on the devices that are currently on the market). I would assume that at some point there will be examples and documentation for the 9.5, but if no-one here is able to answer your question, you probably just need to wait.

Re: USB Host Software Support for Symbian

    Hi,
Could you please let me know where I can get the device side code flow.
Like in USBC . i.e, in LDD. How it interacts with the other USB components.
I am able to see the code in C:\Symbian_Kernel_Taster\sf\os\kernelhwsrv\kernel\eka\drivers\usbc.
But not able to understand how it interacts with the client controller, USB class components, USB Watcher, USB class implementation.
Do you have any document related to this.
One more thing, I want to load this driver in the beagle board and test it. Could you please tell me the procedure how it can be done. And if anyone has already done it, could you please send that.
    Thanks And Regards
    Pankaj
