    Problem with remote device access

I can't install my application on the Nokia N78, I used the following UID 0x102752AE, but I get an Update Error when I try to install it on the remote device.

I just get a pop-up that says "Update Error", I got the UID from the Symbian Signed Device Table under the Pkg File Platform UID.

a 3rd party developer should be using 0x2xxxxx assigned from symbiansigned.com or 0xExxxxx rendomly for testing and opensinged

Re: Problem with remote device access

0x102752AE is the platform id for S60 3rd Edition FP2 and yes, it can be used in your PKG file but not as a package UID. Having it not recognized by device at install time triggers an incompatibility warning, but beside that it has no impact on what happens next.

I tried it now with the following UID 0xE0D7B1C4, but got "Unable to install constrained by certificate" on the N78.

Very good. Why don't you stop a bit and start thinking about it.

What cabilities are you using? What type of signing? Is the certificate used for signing IMEI bound? If so, is RDA phone's IMEI on the list of the IMEIs supported by the certificate?

Re: Problem with remote device access

I used the Open Signed Online (BETA) Service with the EMEI of the Nokia N78 and it installed correctly.
    Thanks
