Question Application error if I double click 'Yes' for alerts

    Hi All,

My team is facing an issue with the alerts.

In the J2ME application, where ever an alert is displayed with Yes/No options, if I click on Yes 2 times really fast I get an application error.

It happens consistently in all alerts where clicking on Yes leads to some db action.

    Example:

After doing some edit in a screen, click 'Back', application displays an alert to save the changes with Yes or No option.
While clicking 'Yes' it should save the changes. Here instead of clicking once, if I double click 'Yes' really fast, i get the application error. It occurs consistently.

Is there a way to resolve this issue.

    What device?

When you see "application error", is there an option "details"? What are the details?

No. There is only option to Quit. The application closes on clicking that.

What device(s) does this happen on? Are there devices it doesn't happen on? Does it happen in emulators?

It happens on Nokia 3110c and Nokia 6300 the 2 devices we use for testing. It doesn't occur on an emulator.
Yet to find a device where it doesn't happen.

These are both Series 40s. Are you sure there is no "details" option when you see "application error"?

What emulator are you using? Try a Nokia Series 40 emulator if you're not doing so already.

Try wrapping the commandAction() method(s) in try...catch(Throwable). Does that make any difference?

If that doesn't help, try calling setCommandListener(null) in the commandAction() method on the Displayable object before the current Displayable changes.

    Graham.
