Re: Performance issues when polling a local http server

    Hi,

Two things come to my mind...

    1. Flash Lite has limitation of 3 max http coonections simultaneously
    2. Is you HTTP server multithreaded to handle multiple simulatenous connections?

You can try sequencing your image load operation ie load the the next image when the first one is loaded. Hope it helps.

I suggest instaed of using your own http server, use the Flash lite bridge provided by nokia.

    Hi,

i used the approach when images are loaded one after another, but it takes to much time. 10 seconds for loading 10 small images!

Then only option is to make your HTTP server multithreaded.

BTW why do you want to load images via HTTP server? You can load it from file system?

Re: Performance issues when polling a local http server

    Hi,

images are loaded from HTTP server, because one application is for start Flash document, another is for server, which synchronize content with "global content server". Files are stored in private folder of "server" application. Flash application cannot retrieve files from another private directory. Images are copyrighted, so they cannot be stored on public folder like C:/data/IMG. Another problem is visibility in Photo Gallery.

    Simon

    Hi,

I also use a few files placed in the private folder of the app from my swf. Thos are XML files. I think if I can access XML files, I should also be able to access the images. have you tried doing this?

ok. Maybe you can use hidden folders

    http://www.forum.nokia.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=189536

Or convert your HTTP server to handle multiple simulatneous requests.

    Thanks!

I will use hidden folders. My http server is based on CActive. I don't know how to support multi threading.

As such threads are not recommended on Symbian. You can achieve the same with use of active objects, but it becomes a bit tricky. Anyways, if hidden folders solve your problem, its great.
