    OpenGL ES 1 possible on N900 ?

    Hello,

Is it possible to develop an application using OpenGL ES v1 ?
    I know it's possible with 2.0 version.

    Thanks a lot.

Yes, it's possible, you need to install libgles1, libgles1-sgx-img and libgles1-sgx-img-dev packages. They are providing emulation for OpenGL ES 1.1, but not available for x86 target, only for armel.

Re: OpenGL ES 1 possible on N900 ?

    I tried it.
But when I execute a simple openGL ES 1.1 (from QT examples), I get an error: "Unrecognised OpenGL version" and the OpenGL ES window dosen't appear...

Does anybody know how to do ?

    Thanks

Qt is compiled using QpenGL ES 2.0. In order to use OpenGL ES 1.1 with Qt applications you need to recompile Qt with OpenGL ES 1.1 (pass -opengl es1 to configure) and install it both in scratchbox and device. Then you won't be able to use OpenGL ES 2.0 with Qt applications. Another solution would be install Qt with OpenGL ES 1.1 support to another location, so you will have 2 Qt libraries (or 3 in case you are using Qt 4.5.3), but this looks like an overkill.

Quite impressive. But I think using desktop applet as desktop icon for launching applications is something what people in Maemo trying to fight with
