    MMS application using J2ME on Nokia Phone

    Dear Sir/Sirs,

    I am doing research about MMS. I made MMS application using J2ME, then I installed the application on Nokia phone. If I run this application and take data (image) more than 30 KB, Nokia phone (N5730 xpress music) will close this application. I tried this application using other mobile phone, there was notification that the image data too much size. I have some questions about that:
    1. Why Nokia phone close the application?
    2. How to make bigger memory for java application on mobile phone specially on Nokia?
    3. How to know the Java version on Nokia Phone?

    I'm looking forward to hearing for you,

    Thank you and best regards,

    Are you sure no exception/error is thrown?

    You cannot. The platform allocates memory to the Java environment. For some devices, the amount of memory is fixed. Other devices will automatically increase the allocation as required. Either way, it is not in your control.

    All Nokia devices (like most phones) support the Connected, Limited Device Configuration of Java (CLDC), with the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP, usually pronounced "mid-pee"). CLDC is either version 1.0 or 1.1. MIDP can be 1.0, 2.0 or 2.1.

    You can find out which version by looking at the Device Specifications. You can also find out programmatically at runtime.

    Code:
    String configuration = System.getProperty("microedition.configuration");
    String profile = System.getProperty("microedition.profile");
    Graham.

    Re: MMS application using J2ME on Nokia Phone

    Thank you for your response.

    I'm doing research on the mobile telemedicine system using MMS technology. When I want to send data (image) which has a size such as 100 KB, then there is a notification that the data is too big or not enough memory. Mobile phone only provide 30 KB for MMS java application.
    1. How to solve this problem?
    2. Nokia Series what should I use to run the application?.

    I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thank you and best regards,
    Andik
