    Unsigned application

    Hi everybody!

My name is Assaf and I'm from Israel.
In the past month I have been uploading few games to the OVI store.
Every time after the upload I get a reject from the QA team because this games are on unsigned application status.
I read about how to sign the games and what I understand is that I need to original codes that the developer wrote.
I need to pay to java verified company for the test of the game.
The payment if for one year for one game.

Please correct me if I'm rung.

I understand also that in the Ovi store I don't have to upload sign apps. Where in the upload proccess I can notify the QA team that my apps are not signed?

    Assaf

    Re: Unsigned application

Games submitted to Ovi must be signed. They do not have to be signed with Java Verified. They can be signed with Thawte or Verisign.

With Thawte or Verisign, you buy a certificate, then you sign as much as you like until the certificate expires. A two year certificate will cost around €300. Once expired, you cannot sign any more games. Also, games you have already signed will no longer install. (Games already installed will continue to work.)

With Java Verified, you must submit each JAR for testing, and it must pass before it will be signed. Each test costs around €100. A Java Verified signature is valid for ten years.

Remember that Nokia will test your game, and they will use the Java Verified test plan. They will do this for free, but you must pass before they will publish your game. So, you cannot avoid passing the Java Verified tests, but you can avoid paying for them.

grahamhughes here is an opinion. java games can be signed like this. if have behappy certificate installed in phone, then from pc, edit manifest file, and where write midlet permissions delete all. and save manifest, pack files back to jar, open with behappy, and sign.

But... no one has a behappy certificate installed on their phone. So, this wouldn't work.
