    Question problem in deleting the access point

    hi everyone

    i am deleting the access point but it is not completely deleted from the phone. After deletion it does not display in the phone but when i create new access point it creates with NETGEAR(01) again after deletion it creates NETGEAR(02) in this manner. It means it is not deleted cleanly from phone.So anyone can tell me how to properly delete access point from phone?

    ThankYou

    You told that you have deleted the access point but you are not sure whether it is deleted or not,,

    For that you can use this CCommsDatabase::RequestNotification ,
    This will give you notification when any access point is added or removed.

    Best regards,

    CCommsDatabase* commDb = CCommsDatabase::NewL(EDatabaseTypeIAP);
    CleanupStack::PushL(commDb);
    commDb->ShowHiddenRecords();
    TInt err = commDb->BeginTransaction();
    // open IAP table
    CCommsDbTableView* commView =
    commDb->OpenIAPTableViewMatchingBearerSetLC(
    ECommDbBearerWLAN|ECommDbBearerVirtual,
    ECommDbConnectionDirectionOutgoing);

    TUint32 iapId = 0;
    TInt returnValue = 0;
    returnValue = commView -> GotoFirstRecord();

    TInt deleteValue = 0;
    TBuf<52> iapName;
    while( returnValue == KErrNone)
    {
    commView->ReadUintL(TPtrC(COMMDB_ID), iapId);
    commView->ReadTextL(TPtrC(COMMDB_NAME), iapName);

    if(Iap==iapId)
    {
    deleteValue = commView -> DeleteRecord();

    if( deleteValue != KErrNone)
    {
    User::Leave(deleteValue);
    }
    returnValue = commView -> GotoPreviousRecord();
    if(returnValue == KErrNone)
    continue;
    }

    returnValue = commView -> GotoNextRecord();
    }

    // commView->UpdateRecord();
    // commView->PutRecordChanges();
    CleanupStack::PopAndDestroy(commView);

    err = commDb->CommitTransaction();

    CleanupStack::PopAndDestroy(commDb);

    HI neha

    If you go through the code to create a access point. You must have noticed that we need to open different tables in commdb while creating a access point. In the same way you need to open the same tables and delete the corresponding enteries. I did the same mistake that you are doing just opened the 1 table and deleted the record. but what about other records that we have created in rest of the tables. Hope you get my point. Actually Wizard_hu helped me a lot in this case.
    I am giving you the links that will help for sure as i got a great help from these.

    Re: problem in deleting the access point

    As long as you are targeting devices on which the Access Point Engine API is available (deprecated since S60 3.2 but still working) you should rather use its classes to ensure proper access to IAP data. See for example CApDataHandler::RemoveAPL()

    you can use
    CCommsDatabase* commDB = CCommsDatabase::NewL(EDatabaseTypeIAP);
    CleanupStack::PushL(commDB);
    CApDataHandler* handler = CApDataHandler::NewLC(*commDB);
    handler->RemoveAPL(ConnectionID);
