    ok, well hard to say. Seems 1650 is a very old device. Do you send a regular TextMessage? Any special encoded characters?

    Check whether the SMS u r sending contains any special symbols or any problem. For that, u send sms to any other device and check whether the code is perfect or not. If they're perfect then the problem might be with the device.

    Hello Sivaji007,

    Welcome to the Forum Nokia Developer Boards,

    How are you sending the SMS either from the device SMS box or using the app?
    What is the technology app developed in?
    Are you able to run the jar file on the device that you are talking about.
    Have you checked the features for the Device you are using,
    http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_1650-1978.php
    http://www.fonearena.com/nokia-1650_540.html
    And these links says that it does't support Java.
    Thanks with Regards,

    Re: SMS J2ME

    This is my code ....
    public void sendSMS() {

    // Put here your mobile number

    try {
    // Create a binary message
    // Destination port is expressed using the decimal notation
    conn = (MessageConnection) Connector.open("sms://" + mobile + ":16500");

    // Specify that we are going to send a binary message
    String message = new String("SUCCESS");
    TextMessage textMessage = (TextMessage) conn.newMessage(MessageConnection.TEXT_MESSAGE, address);
    textMessage.setPayloadText(message);
    conn.send(textMessage);
    } // Let's throw exceptions
    catch (Exception ex) {
    ex.printStackTrace();
    }
    }

    Hello Sivaji007,

    I think that I am not clear about the quoted words you stated above.
    Well, you can send/receive the sms through the J2ME app in case the device is Java supported.
    As you stated that you are sending the SMS using the 5800 xp music, thats ok however I would like to ask the following queries:

    1.On which device you are trying to receive?
    2.what is the port no. on which you are sending and receiving the SMS?

    Please note that
    1. You can only receive the SMS on your J2ME app if the SMS was sent on the port.
    2. if your app on receiver device is not listening the port then SMS can be delivered to the native inbox.

    Kindly make the objective as clear,
    you can search the web and you can find the various demo for the sending and receiving the SMS using the J2ME
    Thanks with Regards,

    Hi Siva,

    Send the SMS with out specify the port number.

    // Destination port is expressed using the decimal notation
    conn = (MessageConnection) Connector.open("sms://" + mobile);

    Thanks
    Avdhesh
