    USER 130 on S60 emulator

Hi, trying to use a brand new installed emulator with eclipse pulsar.
I tried the "Creating your first MIDlet using EclipseME" example.
    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...sing_EclipseME

    But debugging/run fails with
    "Application closed:
    Installer
    USER 130"
    <ok>
    "!WidgetRegistry
    ALLOC: 36a02aa4
    0"

    What's wrong?

    Emulator looks like this:

    Windows XP SP3

WidgetRegistry is a system application. It does not have anything to do with your application. You can just ignore this error. You may also like to search WidgetRegistry on this discussion board to get more results.

I can't... it seems to be fatal. See the screenshot. The emulator terminates the session ASAP.

It's definitely something in the emulator because the same is working fine with the S40 SDK.

    hello

just another guy stuck with this error....
i have googled/tried lots of stuff on this subject but, still, haven't been able to solve
please any sugestion would be MUCH apreciated. it's been already 2 days

this error is code/configuration related: other projects compile/load/install with no problems on the emulator.
i have already created another project and rewrote everything from scratch, always initially installing successfully on the emulator. except when then i introduce a certain code, which gives this USER130 INSTALLER error.
crazy is: when i COMMENT this same certain code, reverting the code to the last successfull install, the EMULATOR INSISTS on this error forever. it's like some internal change was made to the emulator, project specific, that can't be reverted.

i'm quite new to j2me and particularly excited to be frustrated by this.
would anyone please clarify any hint on this
i have already exhausted all forum topics related to this error, including it's causes.
what freaks me out is WHY when i comment ALL the code, the error still persists.

    thanks in advance

    UPDATE:
this above referred project was created with eclipse. i installed netbeans, started a new project importing the very same totally uncommented midlet source code and it simply ran successfully on the same sdk/emulator.
so i reevaluate my guess: it's not a source problem, nor emulator internal state misconfiguration; it's some weird eclipse project setting triggered by my source code, that's causing the emulator's INSTALLER thread to panic with USER 130(related to array index out of bounds).
has anyone been into this trouble? i learned to love eclipse these past few months

Re: USER 130 on S60 emulator

    ALLOC panic comes when
    a) a native application exits normally and there was a memory leak
    b) a native application explicitly asks a check for memory leaks, and there is one
I put the slightly surplus 'native' there to emphasize that this message comes from Symbian C++ (including Open C/C++ and Qt) code. Assuming that you are developing a Java Midlet, there is not much can be done here. Practically this is an error in the emulator's "firmware", and as emulators do not get firmware updates, it is not easy, probably impossible, to fix this problem.
