    Question Retriving Subscriber Number :

    Hi all,

    I am using following code to retrieve Subscriber number :

    CTelephony* cTeleInfo = CTelephony::NewL();
    TBuf8<100> simNo;
    TRequestStatus aStatus;
    cTeleInfo->GetSubscriberId(aStatus,simNo);
    User::WaitForRequest(aStatus);
    if(aStatus == KErrNone)
    {
    ................
    }
    else
    {
    //Error
    }
    delete cTeleInfo;
    cTeleInfo = NULL;
    But after invoking method, the application get hanged.
    Can anybody please point out, where I am getting wrong.
    Do my application need to have any particular capability to achieve this?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Kranti

    also note earlier discussions with CTelephony API's, it has been seen plenty of times that WaitForRequest is not really a good approach, and instead you should opt for using real active object implementation.

    hi,

    Its not possible in j2me to retrieve the sim information. Symbian has the api that access this feature but its not public, btw sometime back one of my fellow champions chenziteng, tested some etelmm api with 5800, i got to look at his post, if you want more information on it , btw the apporach is not public.

    hope this clears the confusion you have.
