    Question Can I create an application to auto press key button by J2ME

    Hi all

    Can I create an application to auto press key button by J2ME (without pressing from user but pressing from program instead) ? How ? and if J2ME is not support please tell me for another one?

    Thank you very much for every answer.

    Can you be a bit more specific?

    You want to simulate a keypress in the same application, or a different app?

    On what device(s) do you want to use this?

    Hi Graham
    I want to simulate first application (A) to control second application (B) by pressing a key on second application (B)'s menu like a human on a mobile (s60). Can I use J2ME to do this ?

    Thank you Graham for your reply

    Hello,

    I wonder if this can be done or there is any workaround for the same in any of the technology. As far as the Midlet (J2ME) is concern the keypressed() is called as soon as any key is pressed. And that comes under the hardware part and thats why this seems to be wondering about this. Since you neither can access the hardware nor you can play with the same using nothing but the software.

    Waiting for others point of view,
    Thanks with Regards,

    No, absolutely not.

    You might be able to do this with a native, Symbian application. You'd need to ask about that in the Symbian C++ discussion board.

    u can't press a key without actually pressing it.

    but, write a function that overrides keypress of canvas.
    keypressed(int keycode)
    {
    ......
    }
    now, simulate a key press by passing the keycode to keypressed.
    so, eventhough a a keypress doesn't occur, the app considers a key is pressed.

    after-all, when u press akey also, only a machine dependent value(keyvalue) is passed to keypressed method

    If you read the thread, the poster wants to send a key press from one application to another. You cannot call the keyPressed() method of a Canvas object in another application.
