    Re: command for setting memory and checking it

    What do you mean by "memory"? Do you mean heap (used for storing Java objects at run time) or space for storing files?

    hi..
    The memory which i have specified is the amount of space which wil be allocated for storing the recorded video....each and every device vil be having a certain amount of space for storing the video....
    say for example the buffer space is 15MB for video recording....when we record a video for 5MB then it show the available space as 10MB...when the entire specified memory space (say 15MB)is over then it just have to show a alert message saying "your memory is full".

    have done capturing the video i just need the code that is used for checking the buffer space
    can u please send me a sample code for this.

    This is difficult.

    You can find out how much heap memory is free by:

    Code:
    long freeBytes = Runtime.getRuntime().freeMemory();
    However, on Series 60 devices, the heap will dynamically expand as needed.

    Also, I don't know if the phone will use the Java heap to buffer recorded video. You will need to experiment.
