    flash lite 3.0 security and trusted folder

    Hi

    Wondered/hope someone can help me here.

    I am trying to get a flashlite app to be able to access files locally from the device.

    However, no matter what I try this fails.

    The device i am using is a n95 and has FL 8,1,55,0 installed on it.

    I have read about the security issues and have made sure that i have created a folder called trusted in the others directory on the phones memory.

    So the path is:
    Nokia N95\Phone memory\Data\Others\trusted (this is path copy and pasted from pc file explorer as a note)

    This I am led to believe allows both local PLUS network access (nb for now I just want local access).

    I have tried setting the local playback security settings on export to both options available. None seem to work.

    Can anyone suggest where I am going wrong here?

    regards

    ade

    Re: flash lite 3.0 security and trusted folder

    Hi

    I am trying in first instance to load items locally.

    The below example is form my apid bridge test:

    function onPhoto(transactionID:Number, eventID:String, outParam:Object):Void{
    imgSrc = outParam.ReturnValue.Src.toString();
    imageDsp_mc.imgPath_txt.text = imgSrc;
    imgLdr = new MovieClipLoader();
    target = imageDsp_mc.container_mc;
    imgLdr.loadClip(imgSrc, target);

    //resize image to preview
    imgListener.onLoadComplete = function(){
    target.onEnterFrame = function(){
    //trace(target._width);
    while(target._width > 240){
    target._xscale--;
    target._yscale--;
    }
    delete this;
    }
    }

    I have also done a test with a NON api bridge version that just tries to load an image out of same directory:

    function loadPhoto():Void{
    imgSrc = outParam.ReturnValue.Src.toString();
    //imageDsp_mc.imgPath_txt.text = imgSrc;
    imgLdr = new MovieClipLoader();
    target = imageDsp_mc.container_mc;
    imgLdr.loadClip("chrome32.gif", target);

    //resize image to preview
    imgListener.onLoadComplete = function(){
    target.onEnterFrame = function(){
    //trace(target._width);
    while(target._width > 240){
    target._xscale--;
    target._yscale--;
    }
    delete this;
    }
    }

    Nb. Ihave tried hardcoding numerous paths here also so

    c:\Data\Images\Trusted\chrome32.gif

    and other variants.

    As anote I have also downloaded a number of example swfs form the web. Ones that load local xml etc. Again none of these work on the actual device.

    I have tired both LOCAL ONLY AND NETWORK ACCES when exporting also.

    This all stems to my API BRIDGE issue i think. As I had a problem accessing the token that gets created. I am assuming this again is a security issue. As the test WGZ that comes with api bridge works fine.

    thanks in advance

    And yes missed your last point. I am testing in standalone player for now as the base test case. Have tried widget and that fails also so want to get standalone working first.

    An xml loading version aswell:

    var headline_xml=new XML();
    headline_xml.ignoreWhite=true;

    headline_xml.onLoad = function(success) {
    if (success) {
    headline_text.text=this.firstChild.nodeName;
    }else{
    headline_text.text="Error loading XML"
    }
    }
    headline_xml.load("test.xml")

    ---------------------------------------------------
    <testBase>
    <item id="1"> ddd </bike>
    <item id="2"> sss </bike>
    <item id="3"> fffff </bike>
    </testBase>

    again doesn't work. Have tried numerous paths. I hope im being stupid

    I am not able to reproduce this problem on my side. Can u please do me a favor? Download this archive :
    mytest.zip
    Extract it, it contains 2 files i.e mytest.swf & myimage.jpg . Copy these 2 files to c:\\data\\others\\trusted & test it . If it doesnt work , then try another trusted path i.e e:\\others\\trusted. and let me know what the results are.

    Hi

    However the bad news.....I have placed this in trusted dir on both phone memory and mem card and all i see with your test swf is the black container clip. No image.

    I am almost at the stage of sobbing loudly.

    So, it is a specific phone issue and that is the reason i am not able to reproduce it. Hard to judge what is the exact reason behind it , may be ur phone needs a hard reset (MAY BE) & upgrading firmware is not a plus point in all cases.However, wish u luck to fix ur flash lite behavior.

    BTW, i heard that Flash Lite 3.1 sis for N95 can be found by googling BUT REMEMBER ADOBE IS NOT PROVIDING THIS UPGRADE ANY MORE. Do it at ur own risk.
