    Panic KERN-EXEC 3

    this method giving Panic KERN-EXEC 3
    void CDataBase::SaveToDatabaseL(const HBufC& aName)
    {
    TFileName QueryBuffer;
    QueryBuffer.Copy(_L("SELECT * FROM "));
    QueryBuffer.Append(KtxtItemlist);

    iItemsDatabase.Begin(); // this line giving error

    RDbView Myview;
    Myview.Prepare(iItemsDatabase, TDbQuery(QueryBuffer));
    CleanupClosePushL(Myview);

    Myview.InsertL();

    Myview.SetColL(1, aName);

    Myview.PutL();

    //aIndex = Myview.ColInt(1);// autoincrement gives us unique index.

    CleanupStack::PopAndDestroy(1); // Myview
    iItemsDatabase.Commit();
    }

    First of all, change the signature of your function and use base class, as follows:

    Code:
    void CDataBase::SaveToDatabaseL(const TDesC& aName)
    {
    ...
    ...
    }
    Try it and build your project again. If you still get that panic then show the exact line which is causing that panic.

    PS: Of course, you need to change the signature in your header file also.

    Apart from that plz check whether iItemsDatabase is opened properly.

    Also this thread can be moved to proper section.
