Re: Helisso - SIS Packaging for Flash Lite applications

    Hi Ranco,

    To address your comments:

    1. The packager tool does not alter the SVG file, please ensure that your icon is SVG-T compatible.
    2. When you select the Main.SWF all files and subfolders in this location will be packaged.
    3. The PKG is not required for OVI submissions, nor is it required for Symbian Express Signed.

    Regards,
    Mark

    Some comments if I may:
    1. SVG icon is installed with wrong colors. I can send you an example if you wish
    2. Sometimes additional files are required (like localization files). Can you add an option to add more files (or "install folder")?
    3. Can you also supply the .pkg file - it is required for OVI store.

    Thanks,
    Ranco

    Hi Mark,
    thanks for your reply.
    1. I've used the same SVG icon with KuneriLite packager and there it was fine. I'll try to compare the pkg files and re-check the icon.
    2. great, I'll check that later today.
    3. Ok, my mistake.

Again, great job and thanks for the contribution!

Re: Helisso - SIS Packaging for Flash Lite applications

    Hi Mark,

    1. Submitting to the Symbian Signed requires the app to contain the Symbian allotted UID signed with my DevCert. Helisso works well with the randomly generated unprotected UID and self signing, but when I tried to use the mandated procedure, the tool refused to yield. I get an error: "Unable to install, constrained by the certificate." I know what it means as I have been following http://mobile.antonypranata.com/2006...0-3rd-edition/Â

    2. The Publishing guide from Ovi store, under the head "Entry criteria for Flash Lite application testing" mentions "Flash files must be published as versions 1.1, 2.0, 2.1 or 3.0. Files that are published as FL 3.1 will not be
accepted.". Helisso packages the SIS with FL ver 3.1 even though my app is inherently in FL 3.0.

    3. The signed output as .SISX. Can I use that for Symbian submission? I have been following http://developer.symbian.org/forum/s...ead.php?t=5371 I have also posted this on your blog.

    Please help.

    Regards,
    Supriya Tenany

This is no longer true. there's a new publisher guide here which says on page 48:

"Flash files must be published as versions 1.1, 2.0, 2.1, 3.0 or 3.1"

    Hi Ranco,

I do not find any mention in the link you have suggested. I am referring to the Publisher guide, Version 1.4, January 27, 2010 http://nds2.fds-download.nokia.com/f...A1D63WEFOESBFR. How about the first and the third? Any help?

    Regards,

sorry, I gave the wrong link. yours is the correct one.
Regarding (1) - I believe mark needs to answer.
And about (3), from what I know, sisx is same as sis, just for OS 9.1 and above (http://www.fileinfo.com/extension/sisx)
OVI store accepts signed sisx (see page 34 of that guide). I didn't try it, but I guess you should be able to sign it just like you do for .sis, otherwise there's nothing to accept...

Re: Helisso - SIS Packaging for Flash Lite applications

    1. When you use the tool with a protected range UID and your publisher certificate/password the SISX file generated cannot be installed. That's because we are not generating a Signed SIS file, we are only preparing the file for signing with TC Trust. You must submit the file through the Symbian ExpressSigned process to produce an installable file.
    2. Nokia do not support FL3.1 on S60v3 devices, on S60v5 the generated package will use the embedded FL3.0 or FL3.1 player. Helisso enables FL3.x to be used on all S60 devices.
    3. To submit the SIS file through Symbian ExpressSigned you should change the file extension to .SIS. The packager uses SISX, this is an error.
