    How to apply .patch files

    Hi, just wondering how you apply the .PATCH files occasionally supplied with code examples to existing sources?

    cheers

    well, for example, there's one included in this archive http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...tomControl.zip

    the readme reads:

    customcontrol.patch
    ===================
    Patchs this example into S60 3rd FP1 SDK Multiviews -example.

    there are no actual instructions on how to apply the patch tho.

    ok, I actually would not do things that way, it would be so much easier to just supply the modified project as a complete one, anyway, the patch file appears to show changes made, I would first just try and see what happens if you replace the original files with the files included in the zip.

    Re: How to apply .patch files

    I tried just copying the files but this doesn't work. The patch seems to directly modify existing files, as opposed to just provide a new one complete with changes. I tried to apply some of the modifications by hand - this *sort of* worked, but only if i don't include one of the sources. I'm guessing and include was missed or something as i get an undefined identifier error. Any other ideas?
