    QTextEdit problem

    Hi,
    I'm new to Qt.
I've tried to make a very simple application: an editable QTextEdit control.
In Qt design, the layout is vertical.

When I launch the application, everything is fine: I can write easily using the keyboard( I'm testing on Nokia N95 after installing the Qt package..).
But if I close the application and open it again, something strange occurs:
-the cursor is above the top left corner,
-when I attempt to write something,I can see the text being writing above the first line
-when I reach end of line,it never goes to the next line, instead it overwrites this first line again and again!

    Can someone gives some help?

    Thanks

    Re: QTextEdit problem

    Following the previous post,

I've installed to my phone (Nokia N95 8GB), the fluidlauncher.sis Qt demoes.

While opening the softkeys demo, that contains some text editor, buttons and combo box selection, the edited text is not readable at all, like the problem I've encountered with my application!
Does anyone know if it is a firmware problem?
Or maybe the device is not working well with Qt?

    What do you suggest?

Have you tried your code in Qt for Windows?

Does that mean you have solved your problem in S60?
Otherwise, If you still have problem with QTextEdit, you should try a running your app in Window. You may be doing something trivial mistake.

    Hello Assayag

First thing to check is if your QTextEdit properly on Windows as suggested on the previous post and ,
the second thing is AFAIK Qt is recommended for devices starting from S60 v3 FP2, so that can be a problem altough i am not sure about.

    Regards,

yes, you should always try Qt code on windows first because it is cross-platform.

The code works fine in windows, the layout organizes the controls properly and I can write normally...

It should be noted that the fonts available on the hardware are not the same fonts available in the emulator. This is one area where the emulator is less than perfect.
