    Do I need some ID, Key/certificate before uploading to ovi store

    Hi there,

    I have one question, i have an application ready to be uploaded to the ovi store, but I'm wondering if i need first to purchase a publisher ID, Key/Certificate or needs to be symbian signed. I would really appreciate any answer from someone that already had some experience with ovi.

    Thanks

    Definitely yes -> UK limited or similar legal entity is needed.

    Hello Mikeliius,

    Currently, to publish applications on the Ovi Store requires you to have a publisher ID which can be acquired from the TC TrustCenter. Please see the following links on obtaining a publisher ID.
    http://developer.symbian.org/wiki/in...a_Publisher_ID
    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...r_Publisher_ID.

    Thereafter, all j2me and symbian applications will need to be signed-- Java Verified, Thawte, Verisigned for Java applications and Symbian signed for Sis files.

    Java verified certificate is valid for the longest time and is compatible on all devices. For more information, please refer to http://javaverified.com/.
    Verisign certificate does not work in S40 5th edition and 5th edition FP1.
    Thawte certificate does not work in 5320 and 6210.
    For Symbian signing, please refer to https://www.symbiansigned.com/app/page for more information.

    If you have further inquiries, feel free to direct your questions to PublishtoOvi.Support@nokia.com.

    Thanks for the answer Andrew,

    I got myself an publisher ID, and now i will get an certificate.
    So after these two steps am I ready to put my app on OVi store?
    What about the testings ,

    i found this on the javaverified site:
    * Babel Media Ltd
    * Sogeti High Tech
    * Intertek
    * RelQ (EDS, an HP Company)

    Test houses, i really don't understand this thing with the testing, do i even need this testing or not?

    Greets,

    Do you intend to publish a Java application? According to the above statement you must have the application signed. Preferably through Java Verified process (see the Mobile Java forums for discussions about test and procedures) or with Thawte or Verisign issued code signing certificates (again, details in the Mobile Java forums).

    If done through Java Verified (recommended) the test process is described at http://javaverified.com/The_Java_Verified_Process and the application must pass the following tests: http://javaverified.com/files/UTC_3_0_1_FINAL.pdf (for up-to-date version, see the Java Verified process)

    Just use Express Signed.

    I will write a tutorial on these boys at some point in the future!
