    Re: Windows phone 7

Nothing has been announced yet, but some information that might help guessing:

Microsoft said that there will be no native applications on windows 7 and that applications will be developed using their Silverlight-Technology. Both Apple and Palm announced that Web Development is the way to go when releasing their first version of the plattform. Both Apple and Palm do no longer slots for memory cards in their plattform and Microsoft is still busy implementing copy and paste.

Now we have native applications on both iPhone and Palm. Both parties released a native SDK after the some time, roughly one year after introduction of the plattform.

So when looking into my crystal ball, I see a native SDK one year after you can buy a windows phone the earliest and then we can talk about Qt on that plattform.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. As Qt developers let's hope for the best. So many people seem to support the 'Only web apps needed' thing. I read a lot articles which promote these. But games need a native sdk anyway for performance reasons. Google was forced to provide the Ndk for Android. So as you said, we may eventually get native app support on Windows phone 7.

Lets see what the public discussion about firefox on windows 7 results in. Mozilla stopped development of Firefox mobile for Windows mobile and its successor until this question is answered. You can google for some of those keywords for more information.
