    Question Location based j2me application help

    Hy

    I know very well about how to get our current location,but i want to know current location of caller?

    Please help me ?

    Hi!

    Your location information is normally not anyway available to whom you are calling.

    Now this is understandable because of privacy and security reasons.

    It is different if you both would be using similar software that would share the location for both of you. And in that case too revealing of location to the recipient should be allowed separately.

    Operators reveal the location and other call related data only in very resticted cases usually involving a police investigation.

    Even with some VoIP software it could propably get only network level, not GPS level information when defining the user's location. In all cases, as I already mentioned the location is and should be revealed (thus IF made possible by the software) only if the user separately acknowledges this and gives the acceptance.

    Would you like to tell more what kind of an use case you had in mind?

    as far as I know during a call there is no information whatsoever send towards the caller regarding the location of both the implied parties...
    as mentioned above only a provider has this kind of information and not the caller and the one being called...
    anyways : there is no way in j2me to achieve the functionality you are looking for...
