    ovistore.exe command line params

Does anyone know what is the command line syntax for application "ovistore.exe"

I need an app to point directly to content in Ovi. I know how to start ovistore.exe , but I do not know how to open it directly on a specific content within Ovi.
An obvious use is a lite version of an app that includes a link to the full version, apps that promote specific content, etc.

All you need is the link to your item in the Ovi Store. You can then pass that to the browser and the browser in turn will start the Ovi Store (if available on device) or will allow the user to download the application directly from the mobile browser.

    Re: ovistore.exe command line params

I have that solution, but I don't like it.
This solutions ends up opening two apps. Often asking the user for APN selection twice. It is anoying to users.
Since the browser is able to open ovistore.exe and pass the link to an app to it, I assume it should be possible for any app to do the same.

Otherwise, I'll try experimenting several "logical" possibilities.

You can always send and email to Ovi Publishing and ask for the needed info. Or ask on the Ovi Publishing forum.

Could you not use the embedded browser launcher API extension?

    Re: ovistore.exe command line params

Just tried with the embedded browser launcher API and may suit what I need.

What is actually does is to open a browser in the current view. Since the the browser points to an OVI URL, the Ovi Store app is opened. At that point, I can disregard the browser from my app.
From user perspective it is more suitable than before but still not 100% like just opening the ovistore app pointing to the actual application.
I wonder why Nokia is so hard to release this basic information to developers that are trying to promote Ovi Store. Can't see how anyone can use this maliciously.

From Nokia's perspective the URL opening works although it is clearly less than optimal. Now that you have asked about it, Nokia will look into the issue and publish a proper solution, if a proper solution exists. And a proper solution would mean an API (of sorts) which will not change in the next Ovi Store client release.

You see, it's not hard. But some times you do need to ask.
