    Re: SilverLight

Silverlight is a Microsoft product and for support or feedback about their beta release you should contact this company. However, on their official product page Microsoft claims compatibility with S60 5th Edition (touch enabled) devices only, so no surprise that it would not work on your phone.

Please also take note that Forum Nokia is a site for software developers and not for end-user support. The wrong place not only for this question but also for http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?t=197657

    Re: SilverLight

That is great. Then have a look at Silverlight's developer resources and make sure you use it on a compatible device.
As for developer support, I'm afraid it is Microsoft which will have to provide that (both tools, docs and technical assistance) but should you end-up having a device specific problem, which is more of Nokia's concern than Microsoft's, please do come and let us know.

    Best regards,

    Re: SilverLight

Is it up to Nokia or up to Microsoft to allow Silverlight Stand Alone Apps?
Those would be nice to create similar Apps for Symbian and WindowsPhone7.

    Bye

    Re: SilverLight

Microsoft can provide the needed APIs for you to be able to initialize a Silverlight app from a native stub which would only serve as a launcher, similar to the way Flash Lite application are created now. Once that happens, and if the user experience is good Nokia will only have to acknowledge the solution and open the Ovi Store for it.

Have you tried to run Silverlight content in a browser control? If Silverlight doesn't explicitly prevent that (as the Flash Lite plug-in does) then you don't need any other API, just create a native app (with Symbian C++ BrowserCtrl or with Qt's WebKit) and run Silverlight in it.

    Re: SilverLight

It probably will not work from the browser, check Truf's recent, just totally misplaced report in http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...ht-for-Symbian

    Re: SilverLight

I have run at least one Silverlight beta demo on N97 (not 7.2 browser) and it worked, up to the point of asking for Flash Lite to move forward ( ). It also worked in the N97 SDK emulator (not 7.2 browser). There might be problems (I have not tried the final release) but that's up to Microsoft to clarify, as well as to provide an official list of devices supported.

Still, on the devices it works, it might also work in a browser control, thus allowing the standalone apps to be developed. It is certainly worth trying, especially the Qt angle.

    Re: SilverLight

A demo is meant to work, by definition. I guess it certainly included the required modifications (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/slsymbian/ar...plication.aspx), however Truf was commenting about visiting an arbitrary site, where you can not modify the HTML source.

Ok, my initial comment was the off-topic one, since Lorion84 was asking about creating his own application, in which case he can easily take care of such requirements.

    Hello everybody,
How can I distribute a Silverlight application to be installed on the device and creating an icon for execution.
I tried several times, using the method wgz, but when running the application, appears only a blank window.
NOTE: (When I use the file manager to load the index.htm it works correctly)
    Please someone could help me?
