Lightbulb Don't use Jquery if you don't have to, writing your own stuff is MUCH faster

    To everyone interested,

I found out leaving out Jquery results in MUCH MUCH MUCH faster widget behaviour.
This might be obvious, but even when doing a thousand getElementById's compared
to jquery's usage of sizzle on the mobile devices, seems to speed up things A LOT.

To those looking to improve speed and battery usage here's just a tip:
Leave out jquery, and do it all yourselves.

Keep up the good work all

    - Jasper out.

I hope you're wrong, for some developers like me it would be painful to leave Jquery
At least I heard that new symbian devices like N97 have much improved Jquery support.
Can anyone else confirm that JQ slows down widget flow?
    Best regards,
    Dusan

It'd also be interesting to see how far different Nokia devices/browsers get with this test suite:

    http://jquery.com/test/

Last time I tried with S60 3rd Ed. FP1/FP2 devices, the browser crashed before completing much of the test suite. I haven't tried in a while, or with an S60 5th Ed. device (or with the N900/maemo).
