    is that means that you wanna install the sis app using the Java ME Midlet?

    you can try this,
    midletObject.platformRequest(sis file path);
    Thanks with Regards,

    Call Sis file, if you mean Install Sis file then make a platformrequest() to the OTA url of sis file or file path where it is stored on the device. This will install the sis file ask to launch once the installation is complete.

    If you want to launch a sis file when any J2me app is installing, in this case you need to program in Synbian and develop a background exe which will monitor the application manager and launch another sis when user is trying to install any java app.

    thanks,

    Hi,

    Could you tell me, how do I make a platformrequest() to the OTA url of sis file.
    Do I need to call "midletObject.platformRequest(sis file path); " this from main midlet
    or something else?

    Please advice.
    Regards,
    Juned Ahmed

    Yes, try something like this midletObject.platformRequest("http://host.com/mySymbainDemo.sis");

    where --http://host.com/mySymbainDemo.sis-- is the URL of your sis file placed on some OTA public server.

    thanks,
    ~Amiatbh

    Hello,
    As I have bold your requirement,and I think you are trying to install the sis at the time of midlet installation.I wonder if sis file can be installed at the time of the installation of the midlet jar file.
    Rather you can install the sis file once the midlet is successfully installed.
    Is this serves your purpose?

    Hello,
    You have to put the file in the file system of the device and not in the resource folder of the project.Then you have to give the complete path of the file where it is residing in file system.

    You did not clear that are you planning to install the sis file at the time if the instillation of the midlet?
    Or
    you are planning to install the sis file once the midlet gets installed?
    Thanks with Regards,
