How to make application always running?

    Hi,

I a new in j2me, I have to develop an application in S40 which can run always and in case if it gets closed then immidiately it should auto start (relaunch). But the problem is that if user press red key then my application gets closed. Should I prevent my application in this event? Or should I do something which can launch my application again?

    Thanks in advance.

If you application, when reamins active makes any server connection then on the server side you will get to know that the app is closed and you send a Push SMS to launch the app again on the device.

    thanks,

anyways keep into account you won't be able to achieve a background running application for every S40 device, only the latest ones support multi-tasking, thus running an app in the background...

Do pressing the red key, closs your app even when its runing on the background? try to handle it in destoryApp(), setting the display to null to push it to background and return false.

Put a pushRegistry on Alam with some 30sec's time to restart the app even if its closed.

Put Nokia-Midlet-autostart and Nokia-Midlet-no-exit attributes in the JAD.

    thanks,
    ~Amitabh
