    How to Import from XML to RMS

    How to Import from XML to RMS

    Hi
    In my development i am having data of 50x25 (Rxc) data previosly in xls format and i formated to xml
    i need to store it in RMS can i import this data? and i can how to do this please help me.if u got any solution plz mail me to this mail-- mj00062@surrey.ac.uk

    You have to parse the data using kxml parser and then store the data in the rms.

    Try to convert the data of each row, in a long dilimitered string to identify the different coloumns - use delimiter like | pipe character.

    Store each of these rowString as sepertae record in RMS.

    You have to parse the XML file by using KXML and then add into the recordstore.

    You can also use JSR 172 (non included in lot of devices), it provides a parser.

    Storing XML as file on the device, requires permissions for FCA, using JSR-75 and signing of the app;

    Using RMS is free and RMS cannot be modified from outside the application, while XML file stored on the device might be deleted or modified by filemanger or User or other 3rd party apps.
