Re: Controls for Flv Video player

    Hi,

How do you plan to provide the user a 19 MB video?

Anyways, I wanted to know if your FLV file i proper or not, because I am able to play local FLVs without any problems using the code I sent you.

    Specs means

    Codec for audio/video
    bitrate
    container (FLV/F4V)

Re: Controls for Flv Video player

    Hi Ramesh,
I have to idea on how to give the 19 mb flv file since I am new to flash lite coding. At present I have kept it in a folder called videos in the memory card and playing. Thanks for the information on spec I feel the specs are correct since the same video is working fine through net stream method. Please revert back with any other option available to resolve this issue...

    Regards,
    Elmi..

If it plays using netstream, it should play locally as well. Can you try using a smaller file?

Re: Controls for Flv Video player

    Hi Ramesh,

Thanks for your help. The local 3gp did work. I do not have an rtsp server. I need a few more details:

    1. Encoding details of the 3gp to work on the FL 3.0.
    2. Why does the new file show ‘3gp.3GP’ in the name?
    3. will the 3gp function only if placed on an rtsp srver?
    4. If I need an rtsp server for the 3gp , how should I install or set it up?

    Regards,
    Supriya Tenany

Important thing to note here is-

    Resolution - 320x240
    Video Codec - AVC (H.264)

You were using H.263 and the resolution was too high. You can experiment with H.263 and 320x240 resolution and see if it works.

    2. Why does the new file show ‘3gp.3GP’ in the name?
Just the name given by encoder. It can be anything as long as extension is .3gp

    3. will the 3gp function only if placed on an rtsp srver?
It will work with local file system and RTSP server

    4. If I need an rtsp server for the 3gp , how should I install or set it up?
Search for darwin streaming server. Its pretty straight forward to install it and make it up and running.

    Hi Elmi,

On which device are you testing? Could be a device issue as well. I have tested only on S60 devices.

    Hi,

Does this imply that if I have a play list, I do not have any mechanism like the net stream object for knowing when to play the next video after the completion of one?

    Hi SUpriya,

Fortunately we get the completed event only. So after receiving that, you can jump to the next media.
