Question Certificate Error in MIDlet application installation.

    Hi,

I bought Publisher ID from http://www.trustcenter.de by paying $200, I received the Publisher Id and installed successfully.

Using this Publisher Id, I Signed my MIDlet application using Java Wireless Toolkit successfully.

Then I submit the JAD and JAR signed with Publisher ID to http://javaverified.com. Application Signed successfully and downloaded Singed application and when installing the application I am getting "Certificate Error" error message.

Please me know the solution for this problem.

    Thanks

Check the date & time settings on the target device on which you are trying to install the signed build.

    Hi Amit,
I do not know what is the relation of the device date & time with the signed application.
Can you please elaborate on this!

    Thanks & Regards,

Device time and date must be in the range of the certificate date and time.
    Thanks with Regards,

A certificate is only valid for a specific amount of time (1 year, 2 years ... 5 years)...
So if the dte of the device is set outside this specific period (before but also after) it simply won't install...
You might want to have a look inside the certificate or even better the signed JAD file...

Are you able to install the signed build after correcting the date and time on the device ?

    thanks,

Question Re: Certificate Error in MIDlet application installation.

    Thank you everybody.

My certificate is valid from 26/04/2010 06:02pm to 25/04/2011 06:02pm.

As you suggest I changed the date and time of the mobile to 26/04/2010 06:02pm,
now it shows error "Invalid application"

    I am totally confused.

Re: Certificate Error in MIDlet application installation.

Try with correct date & time, i.e. today date & time and see if the app installs on it now ?

If not try downloading any signed app from net on the device to test (you can try signed version of Opera mini)

    thanks,
    ~Amitabh

Although Amitabh provided the same solution I would have suggested, perhaps this helps you, too.
