    Cool D-Pad on Touch screen

    Hi,
    I have been developing an app which requires the D-Pad on a non-touch phone (N95) but I want it to use the touch screen for scrolling (ie moving the coordinates of a image (label)) when I use the touch screen on a phone like the 5800.

    All my Java programs give me a virtual D-Pad. So first, How do I disable it, and second, How do i receive interupts from the touch screen?
    I am using LWUIT.
    Thanks
    David

    Re: D-Pad on Touch screen

    You can disable it with a switch in the application settings (in the device's application manager), or you can add:

    Code:
    Nokia-MIDlet-On-Screen-Keypad: no
    to the JAD, or the MANIFEST.

    To detect a touch screen, use Canvas.hasPointerEvents() and Canvas.hasPointerMotionEvents. Events are delivers by the pointerXxxxx(int x, int y) methods (Pressed, Released and Dragged).

    LWUIT... so far as I know, a LWUIT form will handle the events itself for you.

    Graham.

    Re: D-Pad on Touch screen

    LWUIT form provides you with these methods as MIDP canvas do, for interaction with touch and pointers.

    public void pointerPressed(int x,int y)
    public void pointerReleassed(int x,int y)
    public void pointerDragged(int x,int y)

    thanks,
