A quick idea could be checking if mifconv.mk is in the referred location or not. Are you sure about that mixing Visual Studio 9 into the picture is necessary? (I do not know, have not checked the docs)

mifconv.mk is not in that path

MS VC 2008/9.0 is for building qt host tools

    Hi,
You are right this is a difficult problem, the answer was hard to find as the correct Symbian kit path is difficult to find. This is an sbs/raptor problem

    1. create the the s60 directory
    C:\Nokia\devices\Nokia_Symbian3_SDK_v0.8\epoc32\tools\makefile_templates\s60
    2. Download the files by clicking on each on and downloading into the s60 directory
    makefile_templates
    Thanks,
    Jim

Re: Symbian^3 SDK 0.8 build Qt 4.7 with sbs/raptor failed

I'm seeing this same issue in Symbian^3 SDK 0.9 ;! That's too bad.

Jim's fix works though - however I'm seeing following errors :

    1) resource parsing tools

    FAILED resourcepreprocess for gcce_urel: epoc32\build\my_app\c_8a8f4c8ec7da103a\my_app_exe\my_app__resource_apps_sc.rpp

    mmp: my_app_0xe4e45def.mmp

    2) self-signed

file I/O fault, cannot open C:\Nokia\devices\Nokia_Symbian3_SDK_v0.9\epoc32\tools\selfsigned.cer

I suspect that all those are coming from sbsv2/raptor, as I haven't seen any issues on 0.8, where sbsv1/abld is used ...
Is it possible to modify QtCreator/SDK Symbian template files so it uses sbsv1 in 0.9?

    Any ideas ?

Re: Symbian^3 SDK 0.8 build Qt 4.7 with sbs/raptor failed

As I managed to find workarounds, here are my findings that some may find useful (I forgotten to mention that I use Nokia QT SDK 1.0 ):

    1) is caused by fact that qmake generates .rss file that contains .loc file within <> brackets
workaround is to put it under "" ... but proper fix , so some qmake argument/config setting would be appreciated.

    2) selfsigned.cer && selfsigned.key are not shipped with Symbian^3 SDK 0.9, so I have had to copy them from Nokia Qt SDK Symbian source directory.

In addition, I've added aliases (as I've moved to gcce 4.4.1)

    <alias name="gcce_urel" meaning="arm.v5.urel.gcce4_4_1"/>
    <alias name="gcce_udeb" meaning="arm.v5.udeb.gcce4_4_1"/>

to raptor's arm.xml file as gcce_xxx configurations are generated by qmake.

For self-signing, I would assume that makekeys.exe is still part of the SDK, so copying around a worthless certificate should not be necessary.

    Hi,
You need to SDK update to Nokia Qt SDK 1.0.1 which supports Symbian ^3.

This also needs to be "Win 32/64 (938mb)" offline version, the online 1.0.1, seems to have a habit of trashing the installation if you network disconnects during update. The old files are deleted before the new files are downloaded and there is no rollback and no autorecovery.

I use configure -platform win-g++ -xplatform symbian-sbsv2 on the standalone version of Qt 4.7 Symbian.
    Then cd src
    make

Then the Symbian ^3 compiler will be detected.
    Thanks,
    Jim

The link " http://developer.symbian.org/xref/os...ile_templates/ " gets redirected to " http://blog.symbian.org/2010/12/17/s...icensing-body/ ". Can you please tell me where can I get the files from.

    Thanks in advance.

Probably you will have to request FTP access, as described on that page. Then see if there are files containing relevant words from the original link (like platformtools perhaps, it is absolutely sure that there will be some mw-thing).
In the "original" download page, there was an src_oss_mw.zip (787 megabytes), containing src_oss_mw_platformtools.zip (120 kilobytes), I would assume this is the one you need.
