    App that uses existing dictionary

I want to create an application that uses English words (search through a dictionary). I want to be able to access the built-in dictionary with my phone (Nokia 5230). Now here are the questions:

-The Nokia 5230 comes with a standard "MOT dictionary engine" - is that standard for Nokias and is it likely to change?

-Can I access the words of this dictionary (i.e. create an app that uses the MOT search function) rather than having to install ANOTHER large file with just words AND implement a search algorithm for it?

-Could I access the words found in the predictive text module and use that instead (and is there a search function in there)?

Obviously I would prefer an app that is independant, but in mobile development I want to be as conservative as possible.

Re: App that uses existing dictionary

AFAIK, we dont have any direct API's in J2me that allows access to native dictionary and its search features, thou can directly use it with native textBox your user input and takes its advantage in your program.

    thanks,

Thanks, but I was really hoping there was a way I can validate if a word exists or not once it has already been entered, the nature of my app depends on that structure.
