    web services in Doja application

    Hi,
I'm currently working on DoJa(Docomo Java). I wanted to know whether it is possible to implement web services in DoJa?
If yes, then which are the APIs that I need to use.

    Please reply.

    Thanks in advance.

DoJa is an advance platform that support webservices JSR 172.

    For example:
    http://www.jbenchmark.com/phonedetai...testgroup=null

You you can ref. to lot of webservices client side code on FN Wiki which uses JSR 172.

Re: web services in Doja application

I'm not sure any DoJa devices support JSR172. I'm a bit out of date, but historically connection has been difficult, because of restrictions that prevent DoJa applications connecting to server domains other than the one from which they were downloaded.

Nokia don't make any DoJa enabled handsets, so this isn't the best place to look. I'm not sure that DoJa is supported any more. Try the website of your device's manufacturer.

Re: web services in Doja application

    Hi All,
    Thanks for the reply.

I need to develop a small demo application that will connect the web service developed. Can I use the JSR172 package to develop the application or is there any other DoJa specific packages to achieve the same?

Sorry for posting DoJa specific questions in this forum. When I tried to search for DoJa specific websites, most times I used to end up with some Japanese websites. So I have posted this query in Mobile Java General category.

    Thanks in advance,
    Nand

Re: web services in Doja application

Whether or not you csn use a specific API is always dependent on the device.

JSR172 is not supported by the DoJa specification. You can find DoJa tools here, and DoJa documentation here.

However, since DoJa and MIDP are both based on the CLDC specification, it is possible for a device to support both DoJa and MIDP, in which case it might also support JSR172. In that case, though, you would be developing a MIDP application, not a DoJa application.

Do you know what devices you want to run your application on?

If not, why do you want to develop with DoJa?

If you want to target a NTT Docomo device with your application, some device do support MIDP now and JSR 172 as well, see this link : http://www.jbenchmark.com/phonedetai...testgroup=null

    thanks,
