    Post Unable to Display Images in Mobile - Memory Problem

    Sir,
    I am developing a mobile application that is to transfer images,files captured from a mobile to a server having Global IP address . In WTK Emulator we were sucessfull in uploading imgaes upto 480 kb .. But when i created a jar File and installed in my nokia 5300 and Nokia 6300 (s40 mobile) I was able to upload only images of size 170 kb .when i try to upload more than that it gives
    java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
    ..

    Also another strange problem i am facing is when i add images to my application login screen and Logo's ...I am able to upload images only of size 30 kb ....
    Help me out so that i can have images/logo's in my application without reducing the image size ???

    After adding images the jar file size increased from 16kb to 80 kb ...

    In what format are you sending the image?

    How much heap is actually available at the moment you try to upload?

    Code:
    Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
    rt.gc();
    long freeBytes = rt.freeMemory();

    Where are the images from? Taken by the camera?

    Before you try to send the image. Before you open the Connection object.

    you shouldn't be looking at the size in kb of the images, but at their resolution...
