    Which UI library to use for search text box

    Which UI library should I use for search text box
    I want to make something like http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...Box_in_Java_ME
    But I think it's not possible with default controls. So I decided to go for UI frameworks. I found several UI framework, which one should I use? http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph..._UI_Frameworks

    I tried with J2me-polish but it was not integrating properly. Wasted my whole day. Please suggest me some good UI library.

    I think CAknQueryDialog is what I need but it is in C++ API. I want something in java

    Thanks,
    Rahul Kulshreshtha
    Please choose Notification type as "Instant Email Notification". It must be default.

    In LWUIT its simple, you can make put a LWUIT TextFiled and List in together on a Container on a form. Put a change listener on the textfield and update the List model using Filterlistmodel based on the user input in text field.

    thanks,

    Thanks Ekta, I will try to implement it. But what I am curious about is "If form will contain two items (list and textfield) then if list will contain 15 items then textField will be displayed as 16th position ( I mean after all items in the list). So it should be float Or List should have a property like "number of visible items" and should show scroll bar for others.

    better option will be add the textfield first and then the list, make enable scrolling and add scrollbar to it, it will work.

    See the LWUIT denmo and its source code for List, filterlistmodel and list renderer etc.

    thanks,
    Ekta

    If I will put textfield first (before list) then when I will scroll down the list then textbox will go up and up and there will remain only list

    I am currently reading lwuit tutorial "LWUIT_Developer_Guide.pdf". I hope box layout manager may help. I will put textfield and list in two different parts. I hope list will be scrollable inside that box.

    Also downloading Carbide.C++ editior. I found in C++ there are some built-in dialogs as I want. I hope every thing will be all right till evening

    Try
    On the form
    setScrollable(false);
    setLayout(new BorderLayout());
    addComponent(BorderLayout.NORTH, yourTextField);
    addComponent(BorderLayout.CENTER, youlist);

    it should work.

    thanks,

    Re: Which UI library to use for search text box

    Hi Ekta,
    Thanks, that was helpful somewhat. Here is my screen http://www.freeimagehosting.net/imag...bec35d6472.png
    It is showing scrollbar as I want. But there are few problems.

    1. It shows numbers like 1. 2. 3. before each item. Any way to remove that.
    2. List is not able to add a checkbox or label. I require checkbox for selcting multiple items from list.
    3. Selected Items does not highlight. I guess this can be done by using "setSelectedStyle". Trying this but application was giving exception.

    I had quickly looked in forum of lwuit but could not find any problem that matches with mine.
