    Phone number using platformRequest

    Hello guys,

I would like to know if it is possible to use platformRequest to obtain the this telephone number of the SIM (also known as the MSISDN)?

    I have tried using platformRequest(tel:*#100#) without much luck. I am using a Nokia E71 an S60 3ed FP1 device.

The message I get is: "Internet: Invalid phone number".

Is there any way of obtaining this or other method? I need to obtain the phone number and send it to a server to during the application activitation process. I am currently do this by asking the user to enter his phone number - not very neat. For this reason I need to obtain the MSISN from the phone.

note: systemProperty("com.nokia.mid.msisdn") does not work it returns null.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Phone number using platformRequest

1: The *#100# is not universal, but depends on the network operator (carrier)

2: The technology is called USSD. Search for it: http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/forum/search.php

3: Search also for msisdn and "own number" to find out more on the general topic (as to why at least on GSM phones there's no good, direct way to get the number).
