    search facility for the list of contacts using symbian in j2me

    I have created a list of contacts for sending a message by selecting the contact from the list so the list must be with checkbox. Without search facility it is working fine by pressing the down arrow but i want to give the search facility as we have in phonebook.
    for(int j=0;j<vector.size();j++){
    listofContacts=new ListofContacts();
    listofContacts=(ListofContacts)vector.elementAt(j);
    list.append(listofContacts.contactname + " "+ listofContacts.contactno,null);
    }
    list.addCommand(ok);
    list.addCommand(cancel);

    here i cant add the textfield for search.
    I have tried with LWUIT in which we can add two items on the form but it is displaying the list with serial no but i want a checkbox.
    I have tried with j2mepolish where it is working with filteredlist by using addPermanentNativeItem method for adding textfield but it is opening the new screen for entering the text.

    so please help me..

    'List' in LWUIT is a very flexible widget, which you can use it in many ways. The serial numbers are coming because of default ListCellRenderer(). You can write your own renderer and customize your list items.
    This blog post might help you.
