    How to create a hidden audio recording file??

    Hi,
    I use this
    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...rd_audio_files
    to record a .wav audio file.
    Everything works fine just that now i want this recorded .wav file to be hidden.
    But the file is created by CMdaAudioRecorderUtility here

    iToneUtility->OpenL(&iCurrentFile,&iMdaWavClipFormat,NULL,NULL);

    How can the file made hidden??

    Regards
    Biju Chandran

    With RFs::Delete yuu can "hide" it forever. ;) For a less permanent hiding solution try setting file's KEntryAttHidden attribute.

    I am aware of the SetAtt KEntryAttHidden .

    But since the file handling is handled by CMdaAudioRecorderUtility i was wondering if there is a way that the utility can be asked to create a hidden file in first place.

    Otherwise i do not know when the file is created to set the Att as Hidden

    You are asking too much from an API. The role of that API is to record audio content, not to manipulate files in any form of fashion. It is up to you to make sure that the file is hidden and you can try that before initiating the recording or after finishing it.

    Re: How to create a hidden audio recording file??

    Hi Itomuta,
    The problem is i do not know when the file is created as the API does it and if I do a SetAtt just after iToneUtility->OpenL(&iCurrentFile,&iMdaWavClipFormat,NULL,NULL);
    I get a -1 as the file is not yet created.
    CCoeEnv::Static()->FsSession().SetAtt(audioFileName,KEntryAttHidden|KEntryAttSystem,KEntryAttArchive);
    does not give any error but it also does not hide the file

    Regards
    Biju

    Re: How to create a hidden audio recording file??

    Of course you know, from the MoscoStateChangeEvent interface which is being called to indicate that the file is open, for for it to be opened it must also exist. Of course at that time the file is open so attempting to change its attributes may very well fail.

    That is why I was suggesting to do it before opening the file, presuming that OpenFileL does not care if the file already exists and it has a hidden attribute. Or at the end, since you must also know when the recording is being stopped and can do whatever operations you want at that time.
