Orientation change check in Midp 1.0

    Hi ,

I am developing a j2me app , that requires the app to find out the screen orientation change . i have seen tat there is a callback method in midp2.0 that will be called when a display size changed and checked the same for midp1.0 , found that there is no such method for midp1.0 . Can anyone help me in finding the solution for this . so that i can able to find out the screen orientation change in run time.

    Regards,
    venky.

    Hello venky,

could you tell more about why do you want to use it for MIDP 1.0 specifically?

    OK.

Unfortunately I fear that there are not much options to enable this.

Re: Orientation change check in Midp 1.0

I can't think of any MIDP-1 devices that support two orientations.

However, as well as sizeChanged(), you would also (on both MIDP-1 and -2) get a paint() event if you have a Canvas displayed. In this event you can check the width and height of the Canvas.

Incidentally, implementing a sizeChanged() method should not prevent your code from running on a MIDP-1 device... the device will simply never send that event, the method will never be called.
