    Platform request on Windows Mobile device

    Hello, this sounds kind of strange but has anyone successfully deployed platformRequest(url) or even open a webpage on a Windows Mobile device that supports java. Am trying to display a web page from my MIDlet Application but can't seem to open it. Its not doing anything. Device am using for testing is an O2 xda zest running windows Mobile 6.1

    is platformRequest even possible?

    thanks

    Well I am not sure about the Windows Mobile and J2ME, however I would like to know that how are you calling the platformRequest()?

    are you exiting the midlet when you are calling the same?

    tried it both ways but nothing happened.

    Code:
    if( myMidlet.platformRequest(url){
                  myMidlet.notifyDestroyed();
                  }else {
                  //myMidlet.platformRequest(url)
                }

    You can check the same on the Nokia SDK if you have any..
    or even you can use the Remote Device Access to check the same..

    This also can be tested on the WTK.
    Thanks with Regards,

    In order to open the web page using the plateformRequest you must sure that the URL is valid. Since that URL was successfully opened on the browser and hence that is cool.

    Since the Nokia 6762 is the series 60 device and hence the control must the in the ELSE block,and hence the condition that you have written is I guess is correct.

    Did you allow the application by clicking the "Yes?
    Was the application minimized or it still remains in the foreground?

    yes i did, but it just remained in the foreground. But i did not leave it for a while, didn't think it was necessary to do so.

    Also the platformRequest is being called from a class that is using a separate thread, can that be the reason?

    Well that should not be the reason.But just for the testing point of view you can call the same from the first thread if this works for you.
