Question local database for application on N95 mobile

    Hi all,

I'm developing an application on the Nokia N95. I need to store some data locally and later to update them.
I tried to use Record Store but it not so suitable for a relational database.
I would like to find some database management system for the mobile, just as simple as Microsoft Access or MySQL for Windows.
While searching on the internet, I found Symbian SQL, but this one seems not to be used for Java application. The other solutions that I found such as Sybase's SQL anywhere, Microsoft SQL Server Compact... are only supporting Windows Mobile.

Could someone please tell me which DBMS I could use? I don't have much experience with mobile application development.
Thank you very much in advance.

    Best regards,
    burin

You can do file access via JSR-75 (FileConnection API). I don't know if there are any good JME (J2ME) database implementations (over JSR-75) that you could use.

You could also use a native (Symbian) database through a C++ server (your Java app would use local TCP/IP sockets to talk to the C++ server that accesses the datbase).

    Hi Petrib and everybody,

Do you have any example of a C++ server for Symbian database? I'm not so experienced with C++ and I'm null at what you call "native Symbian database".
    Could you help me please?
    Thank you.

    Best regards,
