    Initial Configuration

have to make a PIN protected j2me application, how can a default PIN number be applied to the application so that the user may have to change the PIN on the first run.

PS: PIN number is not the actual PIN number of the phone,it is application specific PIN

    Hi sourabh0612,

If you do not need Mobile Enterprise Platform, that handles the concept of securityMgr, PIN and secure client then
just an idea, but you could implement MD5 (http://motp.sourceforge.net/MD5.java) for encryption, if you
want and to use persistant storage on device, to where the MIDlet logs the user's activity into.

You could maybe handle the first run so, that if there is nothing in the persistent storage for that app/user then
that would be the initial phase to tell that this is user's first time access, a PIN needs to be setup. Next time
there would be a PIN found, so the user would only be asked to enter it?
