    Mobility location in Maemo not working

    It seems that Nokia Qt SDK is still not up to date for Maemo (mobility libraries in phone differs from libraries in SDK). I have compiled GPS application using current SDK, new version of MADDE and scratchbox and when I try to run the application it crashes randomly. Before Maemo PR 1.2 the application worked fine.
    Now when it's working I'm unable to get any coarse accuracy location information (network positioning etc.), but when the phone is able to get information from satellites it's working. Mobility libraries in phone are from device's built-in repositories (not from extras-devel). Do you have any idea what might be wrong? Any help appreciated.

    Yes, there are no Qt Mobility libraries on the phone.

    Where is the source code of that application?

    This basically means nothing.

    What is exact version of the libraries. Qt Mobility was erased from extras-devel.

    I've installed them from the repositories (not from extras-devel). E: From Nokia Applications repository.

    For example lightmaps example. Before PR 1.2 the I was able to get position information using non-satellite position methods. Now just position info with empty latitude and longitude.

    Here is a backtrace when calling QGeoPositionInfoSource::startUpdates():

    Code:
    0x40b661dc in location_gpsd_control_start () from /usr/lib/liblocation.so.0
    0x40b661dc <location_gpsd_control_start+44>:	ldr	r3, [r3]
    (gdb) bt
    #0  0x40b661dc in location_gpsd_control_start () from /usr/lib/liblocation.so.0
    #1  0x4003813c in QtMobility::LiblocationWrapper::start() ()
       from /usr/lib/libQtLocation.so.1
    #2  0x4003ad1c in QtMobility::QGeoPositionInfoSourceMaemo::startLocationDaemon() () from /usr/lib/libQtLocation.so.1
    #3  0x4003aed4 in QtMobility::QGeoPositionInfoSourceMaemo::startUpdates() ()
       from /usr/lib/libQtLocation.so.1
    This doesn't happen every time...

    I do not observe any problems so far. I've compiled lightmap from 1.0.0 Qt Mobility branch
    http://qt.gitorious.org/qt-mobility/...-tarball/1.0.0

    You have mobility libraries from the Nokia Applications repository in the phone? Which libraries you use in building?

    Re: Mobility location in Maemo not working

    I have the same problem for my app. Basically using PR 1.2 QtLocation library on the phone ends up with very slow location detection, even though "coarse" position is available after only a couple of seconds (I know that by clicking on the OS antenna icon in the status bar).. It seems to me that indeed only the satellite positions are reported.
    Thanks,
    Fabien

    I tried Mobility Beta libraries (compiled from sources) and non-satellite positioning method is working as expected. I even tried libaries compiled from Mobility projects master branch and non-satellite positioning method is not working.
