    Usage of JSR120

    hello everybody,

    When i am sending an sms, if my destination mobile(to which i am sending sms) is switched off means is it possible to get any feedback like, message sending failed message, waiting for ur reply.

    AFAIK there is no direct API for this, to get to know that whether the destination number is switched of or not in J2ME.Just you can send the SMS, and can expect that it was sent successfully, if there were no exception were thrown.If you can return the control from the con.send(); successfully then chances are that the SMS was delivered else wait either for the the exception you can get.

    This is what I had seen and experienced, this can differ from device to device.Any addition to the above lines are welcomed.

    You not get to know from J2me SMS API, if the SMS has reached the target mobile device or not.
    Alternate Solution:
    Use some SMS aggregator like value first or open market and send the SMS using their API in return you will get a transaction number, with which you can keep on polling their webservices to get the Status of your SMS message and you will get to know the status updates like in Que or Delivered and your job is done.
