    Exclamation N97 ERROR ISSUE HELP ME!!!!!!

    I've found that my two widgets can be used in real N97 device and they can work well while I'm just installed through Bluetooth into N97.

    On the other hands, when I upload these two widgets to our server and try to download through the internet
    (www.justmobile.com.my/test/FantasyWorldCup.wgz) and (www.justmobile.com.my/test/WorldCupApp.wgz) using real N97,
    I find that when I download these two widgets and open it, it seems open as a text file and shows us in junk code.
    It is not an application anymore and cannot be installed.

    May I know why could this happen? Is it any solution?

    HELP ME URGENT!

    you would need to add the mime type into your server, so it could tell teh download manager teh filetype when the download starts.

    For detailed info about mime type, check this page on Forum Nokia Developer's Library:

    Hi waichun89,

    setting HTTP headers varies depending on the HTTP server itself. The Forum Nokia Library article shows how you can do this when using the Apache Web Server.

    If you do not want or can act on your HTTP server settings, you could use a proxy script, that sets the appropriate header before flushing out the content bytes. In PHP it would look similar to this:

    Code:
    <?
    header("Content-Type: application/x-nokia-widget");

    readfile("path_to_wgz");
    ?>
    Hope it helps,
    Pit

    Instead of setting mime types on the server you can just open file browser from the webbrowser after you have downloaded it (downloads> open file browser) open it from there and it will install instead of opening it from the downloads list

    that would be bad workaround that would fail on some cases, only would require additional steps from users, resulting most of them failing to do it in teh end..

    Definitely, I was saying this so they could at least install it on the device to test themselves.. Mime type needs to be set on server for any production environment.
